To quote myself: "s***, I'm not going to roll over and die..."

Turn, at the very exit of the turn the car starts sliding, stomp brakes, almost stopped but a little too late. The car rolls off the ledge, flips twice and lands on its side and wedges up against that tree.

Thank god for the tree, the next one in sight was at least another 30 yards down.

Do you have ABS?

HOLY s***! Dude, you are waaaaaaaaaaay lucky, man! Glad to hear that you are OK. Sucks about the car though. Any plans to replace it?

If you ever need a ride up to the summit for a meet, let me know. i 'll come pick ya up. (2thumbs)

Again, sorry to hear about the car, but glad to you're not hurt.

ABS!

I wish.

******* stealership.

ABS could or could have not saved my car. If you look at my skid marks, I didn't have much time to do anything at all. I don't know that ABS would've made a difference in such a short distance. My skidmarks where I locked up the wheels are only about 15-20 ft long.

It is my understanding that ABS will only help you if you are trying to stop in the rain, and only in a straight line. Is this correct?

Yeah roy! Hwy 9 repreSENT!

Ya, I'm glad your OK. Cars can be replaced, but not good friends.
No ABS on his car...It probably would have saved him.

EDIT: my ABS works on dry tarmac, and in corners, too.

2nd gen N\A RX-7, 110k daily driven miles. $1500

Maybe... just maybe....

P.S. As for now I don't think I'm going to get another Protege. I'll probably stay in the Mazda family though.

Ya,

First, I am glad to hear that your okay. After all, a car is just a car, but a person and friend can't be replaced.

Sucks about your car though, I hope we'll still be seeing you around. I guess it's a testament to the build/design on the Protege that your still okay.

I'll try to make it Saturday, no guarantees, the car (LX) isn't exactly registered yet (hmm). Maybe the DX can make it.

Deamn...I'm so sorry to hear that. Deamn HWY9 can be a deadly place. Somebody posted about rolled M3. Now a rolled Protege...

Glad you are ok.

P.S. - I was at my dealer picking up a screw today for a trim piece and I saw someone roll off the lot in my old Protege5. I was like hey, there goes my car... Very weird feeling, kind of sad. It looks like it is no destined to life as a grocery getter. The driver didn't look like the kind of person who would be tearing it up too much. I missed the chance to say hi. It still had the stickers on the windows and the bumper plugs in the bumper. Wait until they try to put their front plate on muhahahaha

well at least that es looked good with the h&r's. i'll buy them off you:)

*the first vulture arrives* muahahhahahahha
