Hwy 9 Fun Run!

No, it's his sisters car, she has to learn how to drive a manual car so she borrowed his Miata and now he has to drive that car for a week.

Also: Last night I was up at Vista in da TRACKA and this dude with the sickest ******* turbo brick came up and I went out and talked to him. I got his AIM name and he is down to come out and run with us every so often.

On Protege reliability, my MSP has been very reliable, any and all problems that I have had with it aside from the clunk and the ECU programming (Not necessarily an issue of reliability) have been of my own doing, and I'll gladly say so, my mods caused all my issues ;)

Let's not forget that for the year that I bought my car, JD Powers scored the 3rd gen Protege ahead of the Civic(or any other econo-car for that matter) in reliability. ;)

Didn't somebody get a new engine around 35k miles? :)

That's not the point. I'm sure more than one 2002 Civic is dead by now as well.
BTW: I just finally hit 30K yesterday. (woowoo)
Did you ever have any problems with your P5 Alex?

And the reason the engine was dead at 30K was because of oil starvation under what all of us should agree were not "normal" driving conditions. If you get your car and push it hard, things happen. :) But anyways... that's for the rest of the forum to bicker about.. this is the happy happy joy joy drivey drivey drifty drifty hwy 9 fun run/ bay area hang out thread.

I'll go autcrossing the next time I wake up at 6am to go out driving and am able to spend the whole weekend day out there.

true true....still wanna drift into hella cones

there's a rallycross coming up i think....theres 4wd and 2wd classes, you basically drift around cones in the dirt competitively

Yeah, there were people bringing Rental cars up there to rallycross! Neons, Olds, Mom's station wagon (there were two of them at the innaugural event), rally cars in 2WD and 4WD flavors, old school Rally-Mini's, you name it, even an Isuzu Rolloverdio.
I got some good drifts in there, both on and off power, until the open-class cars dug in a bunch of ruts.
