Hwy 9 Fun Run!

I don't mind picking you up, but do you think you can get one of those guys to drop you back off? That would make it much easier on me later on.

Home. Those maggots made me drive Jimmy home from 236 at 2 in the morning. What a bunch of kooks.

Yeah I can't believe it blew at 12psi. I am pretty ticked. Faulty gasket most likely. Will go back to OEM Mazda. Never should have tried something different.

the job of the head gasket is to seal against combustion pressure, temperature and allow the head to thermally expand at a different rate than the iron block, which is why you hear clicking noises from the head contracting after you turn it off, so as long as the gasket is designed with that in mind, it should work, but the OEM is a sure bet that it is made to work right on that particular engine

yeah but how strong is the OEM gasket

beautiful day today

Tripoint uses OEM gaskets on their proteges and from what I have read the OEM gasket is supposed to be good to 30psi (I'll never be anywhere near that).

Juan has run 22+psi on the OEM gasket without problems.

if the head gasket was like bullet proof, wouldn't that just mean you'd crack your block or warp your head first? i'd rather change a head gasket than find a new block

Yet another reason to go back to the stock gasket.

I'll only be running 12-14psi daily anything higher will require high octane fuel and that's just not going to happen very often.
