HVAC, Engine Air intake airflow question

Wanting to replace my cabin airfilter.

Looking at Fram Trueair (N95 grade) or Fram Fresh Breeze (activated carbon, baking soda).

Do thicker/more restrictive cabin air filters also restrict air intake for the engine? I’m not sure if HVAC and the engine’s air intake share air.

Suggestions?

For the AC filter - depending where you live I guess. More restrictive filters usually restrict the already undersized AC system in the CX5.", especially in very hot regions.
If at a moderate climate you should be ok.

p.s.
AC filters do not affect the engine air intake.
Totally separate air ways/flows.

The engine air filter is under the hood and the cabin air filter is (guess where?) inside the cabin, in front of the glove box. Draw your own conclusion as to your question about sharing air.
