i made a call to cp-e today.... www.cp-e.com ..... just to ask for some info on their turbo upgrade project for the mazda MZR motors.
what was meant to be a quick call turned into a 25 min. conversation with one of their engineers, Josh.
he was anxious to tell me about all the sweet things that they have on the way. cp-e makes top notch performance parts for lots of applications including the speed6, but the MS3 is the first actual shop car that they have had. i was told that they are going to make the best of the best parts for the ms3... anything that can be improved upon ..will be ! josh told me that the intakes are ready, and other parts will include... a full 3" turbo back exhaust with highflow cat, a front mount kit is in the works, an exhaust manifold too, dont forget about the upgraded turbo to bolt to it.
but the best part........cp-e will be offering thier own tuning solution !!
i will be a piggy back..or intercepter if you prefer, from what josh says it will be like the xede only BETTER AND CHEAPER !!
target price as of now is $600 !!! he says it has control of throttle, boost, timing, fuel, and does all the cool data logging and other features that the more pricey models do. the tuner is in final stages he said, they have it and it works, just a few more things to make it final.
he said that parts should start showing up on the website in a few weeks..

That is good news. I wonder how much the bolt ons will add. I'm especially curious as to how much their turbo back will add.

mine too, I mean, i will be one of the first to jump on gettin this s*** but I dont want to blow my dif. or tranny. I will stick with basic mods for now (intake, turbo back, turbo manifold.) I cant wait to see the last two I listed!

Enough to spin through most of third gear on dry pavement. Mine did today... Only mod was 7 degrees F.

God don't you just love what cold weather does to turbo engines? Hmmmm I'll have to check out this website. I too would like to add on the "Basics" (Intake, TBE etc.) but would like to balance out my need for mods with my need for warranty.

Edit:

Wow 18 HP and 20 TQ is not bad for just an intake. If drivability is not compromised this would definately be worth the money.... Damn 2 cars to mod... EVO, MS3, EVO, MS3.... (bang) (sad1) (sad2) (hand) (uhm)

Evos have been done, be adventurous and play with the 3!(first)

That's my dilema.... Warranty, Power, warranty, power, warranty, power. (bang) (bang) (bang) Besides, the Evo is my track car while the 3 is my daily driver. The 3 is a much better commuter than the Evo, especially mine, since I put in the Teins and the RT-615s the ride is a bit harsh but damn will it hold a corner.

just keep all your stock parts and put them back if you ever need warranty work...
