HPDE lapping day @ BeaveRun October 2 2011

Josh
I will be there @8:00 am we can go over some simple things that you should work on.
I will have an air tank with me if you need it. I usually bring way to much stuff!!

What time are you leaving that morning? I'm between White Pond and Copely Rd, so you'll pass right by me. Maybe we can convoy together?

I am leaving around 6:30 ish should be over by White Pond around 6:45.
If all goes well I should also have an 88 RX-7 GTU following as well.

Just have fun!

For your first track day just make sure that you enough gas in your car, about 5 extra PSI in your tires, and all the loose items out of your car and you should be good and you will have fun. Just starting out you really don't have to do much to prepare. You be out there driving the car like Senna. :)

Marlon, I think I remember seeing that Jay deals Hawk pads. Do you have any contacts, or preferred vendors that sell Carbotechs?

RPM sells Carbotechs and if you are a part of the Mazdaspeed Motorsports Parts program you can order from the as well.

How many generations of RX7's were there? Seems just about every body style will be there! lol

There were 3 different generations.

I just realized this event is this Sunday!! Wow, where do the days go? haha

I'll probably be there close to 9 or 10am. Hopefully I have 3G reception at the track, in case I get a call for work and have to fix a computer or server.

Also...who all is coming? Does anyone plan on bringing a grill? If so, I'll pitch in money for burgers, or buy some if necessary.

I'll probably send the wife over to our favorite PA restaurant to get some pizza and such. Little Italian place by the college I went to. I'd get Primanti Bros. but that's best eaten at the restaurant. lol

Yup! Let him a message around 4 yesterday, and he called back at lunchtime today. Talked me into the +'s even though they may make more noise. These will be my track pads only, the extra grip was worth $20 more. :)

they are noisy, but I didn't mind, and it gave me a piece of mind knowing that I had good brakes on the street in case some jackass cuts me off

Don't forget to bed them in properly friday, buddy. And hopefully they don't squeek as much as Phens do. Oy.

The ones I have on my Miata squeak like crazy too.

What he said, it is really important to do it correctly! Good Choice BTW....get them heated up on th track as well....accelerate and do some hard stopping while the yellow flags are out...

see instructions in the box.. you'll start off by doing gradual stops at normal speed and then more at higher speeds, it removed the coating on the brake material.

Yeah, but damn they're expensive... But I guess brake pads are certainly worth it.
