Could anyone direct me to some car insurance companies that will provide coverage for HPDE's (High Performance Driving Education/Events)?

Thanks!

Hmm
I dont' actually, I think most insurance companies have a "drag racing or preparationg/practicing for drag racing" exclusion in which there wouldn't be coverage

But If you do find one, I'd be interested to know who

its all about how you present it. instead of saying that you were racing just say that you were at a driver improvement class

i'm pretty certain most auto insurance companies have gotten wind of these 'performance driving clinic' events, and are explicitly stating they're NOT covering any damages that occur during these events.

Hence why you would get special coverage for said event.

pay to play

at those events no one is liable, even if someone hits you by doing something totally stupid. its happened, and that why they make you sign a liability waver.

its going to be expensive and hard to get covered for that event.

Almost all insurance policies have a line in there that says you are not covered at any sort of racing event. This means that if someone smashes into you, you smash into something, or whatever else happens -- they won't pay the claim.

If somebody smashs into you at an event like that you could still sue them directly. It is my understanding that the track holds no liability....is this correct.

You can try to the other party directly, but not the track, as mentioned before, thats why you sign the waiver. Odds are the judge will ask why insurance didn't cover it, it'll be becuase racing is an exclusion on the policy and I think the judge won't reward damages, he'll just say it's a chance that you were willing to take.

kinda makes me want to shy away from the track.... gotta pay to play and I cant afford to lose this car and still make payments

unless you're an idiot or a complete tool that likes to 'one-up' people on the track, track driving is arguably safer than public highway driving

you're not gonna crash just randomly if you do your due diligence and prepare your car properly and drive with good judgement

Trust me you wont be able to sue anyone.

At the track, you drive your car at your own risk, you can ask different organization like speed venture, redlinetrackevents. etc...

You just have to be careful out there and dont be stupid. And if you are around stupid drivers let them pass or change driving groups or say something to the coordinator (they usually keep an eye out for wreckless drivers some organizations are better than others)

It is pretty safe if you use your head and do it the right way. And some organizations are better than others.

Im not trying to scare anyone, It really is a pretty safe way to learn how to push your car, but sign up for a good organizer and sign up for instructor lessons and listen to the instructor. Dont go crazy and build up speed slowly.
