How well does the wagon sell?

I am on the market for a new wagon and the Mazda6 is pretty attractive.

How well does it sell? Is Mazda happy with their sales figures for the wagon?

I would not want to buy a car (I am refering to the wagon here) that wiil be discontinued in the near future.

I think the 6 wagon is now the best selling of the 6 models. If your looking for a small wagon, check out the saab 9-2x. Its a subaru wrx wagon, with a saab exterior/interior and warranty, for about 19.4k without negotation (employee discount from gm), and as low as 16k with heavy negotation.

In terms of wagons, its the best buy right now. 227 bhp, awd, subaru drivetrain, engine, suspension.

Crossbow, maybe the SAAB is cheap to buy but I am sure it will depreciate very quickly and will be costly to maintain.

My first choice would be an Accord or a Camry but since they do not offer a wagon version, I think the 6 would be my next best choice.

I really like the 6 wagon. Much more room compared to the hatch or sedan, but a little heavier in the rear which isn't exactly a bad thing...

oddly enough the hatch only has a few cubic feet less of space when the seats are down as compared to the wagon when the seats are down.

Dennis...did you miss the whole part about the saab being a wrx? Your basically getting a 28,000 dollar car for 19,000 USD.

Well anyway, if you want to ignore the current best buy car of the year, do so...just felt I should mention it anyway, as they're selling like hot cakes.

New to the forum - greets!

I'm in the market for a mid-size wagon as well... Looked at VW Passats, used Taurus/Sables, and even Volvo's... but didn't consider Subaru/Saab cause I don't need AWD and the Subaru's look a little too small. The Mazda 6 wagon looks to be the best value - and the sportiest.

The one thing I noticed is that CarMax has a BUTT-LOAD of 2004 models... Did Mazda sell TOO many? Why are so many 1 year old cars back in circulation?

here's the deal with that one.. you're going to see a lot of low mileage '04 wagons and hatches.. they didn't release them until very late in the model year and did not advertise them very well. In which case, not too many people knew about them and didn't buy them. You're going to see a lot of leftover '04s and a lot of dealer demo models. Furthermore if an early adapter got an '04 and did a 2 year lease, their lease is up.

Well I don't know how well it sells but it Drives great. I just bought an 04 Sport wagon and I love it.

Agree - I just got one too... '04 - Gold w/ Tan interior. It was a lease job with 18.8K miles... got a VERY good price for it. Very good shape... Very sporty driving.. Only problem is that the wife gets to drive it for the next few months while I get the mini-van.. (ugghh). ;)

I seen alot of sport and non sport package wagons now.

They're pretty nice cars, but they're not really moving here in SoFla. Where I work is doing them mainly as special order, but get a few in stock every now and again. The main reason we don't get a ton to sell is that the hatch with seats folded is 58.7 cubic feet and the wagon is a touch over 60cu. ft.
