How to SLS side mount

Tools Needed:
ratchet
10" extension
14mm and a 17mm(deep) sockets
19mm box wrench
Breaker bar
floor jack

Removal:
1.Place a floor jack under the ENGINE and jack it just enough to support the engine about 1/2 an inch or so.
2.With the ratchet, extension, and breaker bar break loose ALL of the nuts and bolts.
3.Remove the 14mm nut, 14mm bolt and the bracket shown, this will make it easier to pull out the mount.
4.Remove the rest of the nuts and bolts, position the ground wire out of the way somewhere and remove the nut under it also. Raise or lower the jack if Needed.
5.Remove the mount and look at it in disgust as it is more than likely torn. Discard.

You will have one 14mm bolt and nut leftover from the bracket. I just put the nut back on the stud and saved the bracket and bolt.

Installation:
1.Place gray bracket, washers, and 17mm nuts loosely as shown in Pic4.
2.Insert mount with supplied 19mm Bolt, Big washer, small washer, locking washer, and 19mm nut. tighten slightly.
Make sure everything lines up (reposition jack height if need to), see assembly pic5. I reused the 14mm mounting bolts, insert and tighten down.
3.Tighten everything down, I used the breaker bar to re torque the mounting bolts maybe a 1/4 turn.
4.Don't forget to replace the ground wire and nut.
5.Raise jack slightly and check if it created space to tighten more, lower jack slightly and check for space in nuts and bolts and tighten if necassary. remove jack and make sure everything is torqued down.
6.Test drive. Recheck torque on the hardware.

This is an easy and straight forward replacement, should take about 20 min or so with proper tools.
I also did the front which I thought was harder because I had to jack my car and remove the plastic. I can't comment on the vibe from the side mount alone as I replaced both. Idle is definately a little more vibe with both mounts, but I think these will break in after a while and vibe a little less? Smoother feel during shifts and makes the car "feel" faster.

Thanks to jeg for the help.

Hope this was the right spot to post. Thanks to SLS for pic4.

Nice write up man!:) Car should shift a lot easier now that the motor isnt moving around anymore. How bad were the stock mounts? I see that it looks like the side was ripped a little, and im sure the front looked like hell too lol.

Thanks, guys. :)

Yes the front were gone here it is. You can see that it was totally ripped on one side and the other side was just hanging there doing nothing. Gas feels really smooth def worth while replacement. Starting the car used to shake, now I cant feel the engine start at all.

Is this engine mount tearing a big deal with automatic transmissions as well? Also, wouldn't you want to replace all the mounts? I would think just replacing one or two would put more strain on the weaker factory ones.

The center of my front mount came completely out. Dang, I should of did a how too on my front mount for yall...i wud almost go back and do it.

If your auto is modded like mine is you will atleast need a new front mount, mine was torn just as bad as his in the pic after well probably 50k miles. And yes, you should replace all the mounts, only thing is SLS hasnt finished the others yet... or have they?

...Im gonna go with inserts on the others.
take pics and write a how to...would be nice.

I know SLS is working on the rear but I havent seen them mention the driver's side.

well...It looks like the passenger insert will slip in w/o removing the mount, ion no. I finally discovered the rear mount today. I see why everyone takes it to someone else.
