How to remove the HU on a P5

:
'02 red MP5
needless to say, i'm new at this stuff. i got subs and an amp and i can't figure out how to pull out the stock head unit to RCA and remote turn on cables. could someone give me some pictures to help me out or somethin? thanks a lot.

First of there is a how to on this uesthe search ,but to make life easier the stock headunit doenst have rca's out nor a remote wire

to pull the hu theres 2 little plastic strips on both sides of the radio, you need to pull those out and then you need those universal radio removal tools. they look like a u shaped hangar. stick thosein util you hear them click, put outward pressure on them and pull it out.

You are going to need a LOC (line-out-converter) if your amp doesn't have speaker level inputs. A LOC converts the speaker outputs on the back of the head unit to RCA level suitable for connecting to the amp. YOu can get one from www.davidnavone.com.

There also isn't a remote turn on lead. You can either connect it to the ignition wire (please use a fuse if you do) in the radio harness or you can run the wire to the fuse box and connect it to a fuse that is only on when the car is on.

ok. i just got my P5. the guy already did the whole rca deal so i got rca hookups. the turn-on's r running to the fuse box and hooked up to a fuse. everything seems like it should work but it just doesn't. there are 2 blue cables that seem to have something to do with the TO but i can't figure out wut to do w/ em.

Who is this mysterious "guy" and what is the "TO"? What blue cables? what are they on where do they go? how are they labeled?

ok i got it all figured out. thanks for your help.
and chuyler1, i am a guy and i don't know what's so "mysterious" bout me. and i used TO to stand for "turn-on" which were the blue cables. that was my bad.
thanks again
