Got a CD stuck in my indash player (mazda protege factory installed). Tried lifting it with another CD on top/bottom, even tried pulling it with a tweezer !!! nothing seems to work. I can hear the eject motor running, but its not pushing out the CD.

HELP !! How to remove it without spending big $$$

i got the same problem too, so someone could help us?

Sounds like you might need to take it out and take it apart. Ive never had any problems with my player though, how did it get stuck?

Not sure how it got stuck. Was playing well. Couple of days back when i wanted to change the CD, i noticed it would not come out :(

Is it easy to take the unit out myself (does it need any key to remove the player? i dont think i have one)

I think it requires some little puller tool if I remember. The easiest bet is to roll up to Circuit city or Best Buy and have them yank it for you. Save lots of time and headaches. I've had it pulled for like 10-15 dollars before. Well worth it.

Yeah, you acually need 2 sets of the tools. Go to walmart, buy 2 sets, remove the radio in the parking lot, return the tools. If its too much of a pain, which mine was, you might have to take off the dash surround and lift up the clips by hand. Mine were bent in because the dealer had removed my radio a few times before and they jacked it all up.

I think there is a TSB on this. If I remember correctly, it was a static buildup issue that could be cured with a stouter ground connection to the metal case of the head unit. I had this problem with mine a few times, and simply just kept trying to eject the disc. Eventually it freed itself up and came out.

this happened to me about a month ago... i didnt get my cds out until saturday then got another 1 stuck in it...

i think i need a whole new unit.

my friend went under neath to take the whole thing out it was a pain... never did get the thing out so he could replace it.
