How to Remove Hockey Puck Satellite Antenna?

:
Mazda 3iT 2012
New 3i hatchback came with satellite radio, which I don't want.
Hockey puck antenna looks like it is glued on. Anyone know a
way to remove it without damaging the paint?

Try heating it up with a hair dryer or something similar. Then slowly prying it off once you get that glue nice and warm again.

It may or may not come off that way, but my question is that if the antenna comes of, will there be a hole there with a wire and how will it be filled. Or are you going to replace it with something else?

The wire runs back into the hatch crack and under the weather seal. Or so it appeared on first glance. I'll take a closer look when I get a chance. In any case, it's not a hole on the roof surface.

It is in the weather seal on around the hatch and it goes in through the tail light. There is a little access hole in the right side of the trunk... if you open that and reach in there you should field the SiriusXM box and find a bunch of wire zip tied together that is the extra antenna wire.

Yes, tiny coaxial cable dives under the weatherseal, but nothing behind the little
cover but tail lights. Where else might they hide the sat receiver? It looks like the
"glue" might be a double-stick rubber sheet. We should be getting some good hot
sunny days here before long and I'll see if I can work it loose.
