How to lower engine crank time with Forscan?

Hello Guys,

I have a CX-5 2013, 2.2D Manual. I just bought Forscan scanner and all. I want to lower the crank time.

Basically when I press the start button, the starter goes for too long and starts making a strange noise. I have the issue since I bought the car 3 y ago. Does anyone know the code in forscan for the starter setting? Or is there any other solution? I changed the starter already 2 times and the issue is still on.

Thanks.

Do you mean that the car starts in normal time but the starter remains engaged?

-OR-

The car cranks for a long time before it will start?

Car starts very good, thing is that the starter remains engaged even after the engine started.
Okay that's likely the easier of the two to sort out 👍.

I don't think you will find any kind of "setting" for starter engagement duration. I see that you've changed the starter twice with no change to the problem. Have you tried taking your car to a Mazda dealership or trusted mechanic that's familiar with Mazdas?

I don't think you can do it with forscan... maybe mazda edit... so, let go of the brake or clutch pedal when you want the starter to stop turning... that's the workaround
