How-To: Install Kartboy Exhaust Hangers

Good to know. Off topic - I'm curious why the Racing Beat exhaust is so rusty? Are they not stainless??

I'm not sure...but I know the weld for the tip where the shop shortened it so it would fit my p5 isn't a stainless weld. when I took it in I asked for stainless but they didn't have any, so oh well. It's held up pretty well over the past two Connecticut winters!

and Kura808 - I don't know what the gap is "supposed" to be, but after installing the hangers there's about a 1" gap (as you can see in the pics) and the exhaust doesn't move when I tap/bump/try to move it.

ooo ok thanks xD i guess right now my hangers are somewhat normal cause its about a 1/2" gap. kinda scared me when i noticed that the gap was widening. i might do this mod perhaps in the future.

stuck em on today

it doesnt hit nemore going over bumps it just wont stay centered on the cut out so it hits when it vibrates at startup and while driving. i tried the zip ties to keep it in place but it didnt work. idk what else to try but i need to find somethin. i might go try and get some bigger zip ties. the ones i used are small b/c thats all i had so i used like 3 on one side. either that or i'll try and find a spacer or something to use

i cut the stock ones off b/c it was nearly impossible to just pull them off.

well these made more problems than good. now the exhaust contantly hits the chassis when at idle and around 3300 rpms. guess i'll change the rear hanger on the muffler in hopes to lower the pipe enough where it goes over the rear crossmember. so...how to get them off? i have one stock hanger for the muffler so i hope it works

well i adjusted mine as best i could, i only have one thing left to try before i replace the rear muffler hanger w/ the stock one. i have about 3-3.5 mm of clearance of the pipe and the chassis body above the crossmember. how much does it expand when hot? i'm hoping this will be enough :( anyone know about how much the pipe expands? it's where the pipe goes above the cross member :(

That's the same problem my msp is having my oem exhaust is rubbing on my crossmember but it only does it at 80mph+ its sooo annoying had fun with a sti on our way back from hin/nopi, nj and made it much worse...getting these in the next few days so hopefully they fix it...also trying to find a j-pipe back exhaust to go with them...
