I had some ideas as to how to increase gas milage...

1- Rebadge your Mazda with a Prius Logo = + 20 MPG

2- Add enviromentalist bumper stickers = +10 mpg

3- round up stray dogs and pretend your Mazda is a sled = +10 mpg

4- Cut a hole under the driver and passenger floor board and do it Flinstone style = + 15 MPG

5- dont't drive. = + 35 mpg

ah, you edited the post to actually contain ideas... you really should finish typing up the post before you post it :p

it was a mistake. i hit enter by accident :) its early in the morning and rainy.

i was thinking of adding bumper stickers and a prius badge.

Flinstone style is the way to go baby.

On a serious side note mythbusters tested the adding acetone to the tank thing and they got worse gas mileage.

(werd) glad i'm not the only one who saw that episode...

it was awesome how a carborator (sp, i know, i know) can suck in hydrogen and run...er, and then explode.

I love mythbusters i try not to miss them. They do make mistakes sometime in their research but nobody is perfect.

- Put helium in tires to make car lighter
- Release e-brake
- un-hook 2 plug wires while cruising
- wash and wax car to remove unwanted weight
- Put flashers on and drive like granny

Whats sad is the the 32 valve gets better mpg at 80 mph than 70-60-50-55 on freeway. At the dragstrip I damn near ran 16 passes with the light on and still made it to the gas station.

about the helium in the tires....I heard about that. Does that really work. My friend and I were talking about cars and some dude told him that adding helium or Nitrogen should make the tires lighter and get better gas mileage. I laughed it off. I wanted to look into that, but considering that helium could be flamable, Nitrogen, does that work? any threads/thoughts?

how bout turning the car off while doing down a hill?
starting the car a few times might cancel that out. I did throw it into neutral down hills when I was driving a suv on fumes to the next gas station.

its hard to turn tho... considering your power steering is off too
That and maximum braking capabilities/gadgets.

Beleve it's been used. IIRC thats why there are rims out there with 2 stems. Can't think of it off the top of my head but necessity and sc3 had those rims.
