how to get rid of the governor!

ummm the only reason i would be askin this its bc im thinkin about boostin it! n if its gonna stop at 118 datrs ****** gay..

does anyone else think its CREEPY that new cars are fully GPS tracked, all the time WITH the potential to disable vehicle power for ANY reason? A yikes!

can you just go to mazda, tell them that you plan on tracking it and need the limiter removed? granted i'm sure it's instant voided warranty but if you're turboing anyways no big deal

The limiter can be bypass for the 04 and 05 since their limiter is governed by fuel cut. You can get around that by getting standalone management system. For the 06 and up models on the n/a 3 the throttle Body is closed once it reach 110 or 118. There isn't a quick fix that Mazda can do or a way to get around it. It has been research plenty of times and there isn't anyway around it.

How do DBW cars react when converted to cable?

dude just make sure you have the right tires on your car before you go driving 110 and above...
blow-out @ 110 = very bad day

What? I've never heard this before. I know that the on-star vehicles are GPS tracking capable, but nobody I know of is going to provide GPS tracking without a fee of some sort. Please inform me if I am wrong, but this is the first I've heard of it.

the only reason the fuel is cut at certain speeds is because at that high of rpm the trans internals are spinning at higher rpms and can burn up pretty quick, not to mention holding high rpms is not recomended mazda only limits it for their driveline not for you safety :) . New 09 models have cold start fuel cut to prevent engine damage on mazda 6 and rx8

My girlfriend and I tried to find the limiter on her Yaris.

:: sigh ::

The acceleration was so awful we ran out of road before we could get it over 105!! You think the 2.0 or 2.3 mazda 3 is bad, the Yaris is 1.3

of course, even beating on it she gets at least 42 miles a gallon. I'd rather get 20 and go fast!

EDIT: about the GT-R, I heard if you take it to a track, they can turn off the limiter by remote, but then you have a certain number of days to take it in for maintenance ($3000 my friend says) or they void your warranty. Oh yeah, and the 110 turns back on when it sees you get to the parking lot. ugh, ghey

true but if someone comes in for maintenance and we ask them if theyve raced it, it has a computer system that we can hook it up to ,if the person has exceeded 115 zipp no more warranty, it doesnt really have a real warranty anyways

Wait.... they will check to see if we went over 115 and then auto void????? Ooooppsss......

some dealers, i personally dont say anything unless its an abuse issue for waranty, then i still might not, depends on how loyal the customer is to the dealer

Depends on how loyal the customer is!? WTF man. God complex or what? "You don't spend enough money here so.. no warranty for you!" Can you tell how often they went over that speed? I mean come on, most of us have opened it up atleast once just to see. Sucks to think that someone that's a spirited driver (and alot of us are) may be denied warranty because you suspect abuse from a couple numbers that got pulled from the computer and we don't spend enough money for stupid s*** we can do ourselves.

Just an example, I'm getting my car back today after 11 days for a bad thermostat under warranty. At first they suspected a blown head gasket, then a cracked head, and finally, yea, it's just a thermostat. 11 days for a thermostat. Does that make me want to spend my money there? Absolutely not. So now I guess there's more of a chance of being denied for something if they suspect abuse since yea, I've been over 115 once.

Playing favorites when it comes to warranty is lame IMO.

what i meant by that is if you buy the car, never come in but for waranty work and it is abused, then more than likely yes. If a customer comes in for services recomended by mazda than more than likely i will let them slide, its not a god complex or inferiority issue, it is a common sense and neglect issue. There is a difference between "spirited" driving and just beating your vehicle, technicians know the difference
