Does anybody know how to disable the airbags on the P5?

I don't believe that there are any airbag fuses...

I'd hate for the damn things to go off in a fender bender **knock on wood**

Uhh...... isn't the point of airbags to slow your body and face from slamming into the steering wheel or dash?

Why would you want to disable them?

If you take out the glove box. Have a good look underneath. There is a big plug under there next to a big metal box which is your airbag assembly. Not to sure about the steering wheel one. I'm sure someone knows. I would unhook the battery before messin with it. And yeah why disable a safety feature. Plus I think it's illegal. But who cares it's your ride

You should be fine if you disconnect the battery (both cables) HOWEVER you wanna give at least 30 minutes for the capacitor to discharge before doing anything, otherwise their is a chance it'll go off.

I'll echo what has been said above...disabling safety features to limit damage seems counterintuitive. You have no way of predicting whether you will need the airbags or not, so why not just leave them working?

ha, i figured that i'd get these responses.. yea.. heard it was illegal haha..

just wondering though if it was as easy as a switch/fuse as some cars are..

A fender bender is not going to set off your airbags, if that's what you're worried about.
Those things will only go off in major collisions (when you really need it).
