Mine is so slow that people pass me up walking............................when parked or waiting for the light to change. I race people on bicycles all the time (on a closed course of course)....and win! I can embarass so so many asshats who want to play stupid road games that doesn't involve top speed so I don't care if people think it's just a slow wagon thing, advantage me. It keeps me entertained, it gets 31 mpg even being sportauto with 100k on the clock & will pony up on the limiter in open stretches effortlessly. No one has the fastest car on the planet and no one has the fastest car in every situation but yeah, these are slow POS's compared to lots of cars & lots of cars are slow POS's compared to these.

65 whp pulling to rev limiter with ease? Maybe in neutral

Mine seems to accelerate alright. Although it runs out of breath over 4000rpm, its all low-end torque (which I don't mind)

Auto 2.0 protgs make 60-70 whp manuals make ~100 so yes around 65whp is all he has if it's runing right

I'd call the wife's Protege5 zippy. Has some pep to it at around town at low speeds. It just runs out of breath fast. I'd call my Legacy legitimately fast. But if we leave the same place at the same time taking the same route we both get there about the same time...

Yes, a lot of power is lost with the auto trans. Just look in the dyno section at what people make

Kinda just baiting someone who seems to want to **** with whatever I post in whatever thread, serious or not. Remember the post you quoted of mine at the top of this page? Read it again. Did that reallly come off as a serious post? Some of it was and some of it wasn't, figure it out. I'm hardly delusional about what this car is capable of and will jokingly post randomly. Careful not to bend your shift fork trying to prove how slow autotragics are..........oh, wait, it appears something worse happened according to your list. Guessing the area between the seat and pedals had nothing to do with that either.

No it was years of no maintenance from previous owners. I wasn't sure if you were joking or not at first. But there seem to be a lot of people here who think their cars are quick so it's hard to tell

When this car runs well it is an enjoyable ride. But there is a very brief window when it qualifies for quick or peppy; sometime after getting rolling and up to ~3,000 rpm. After that, it falls flat on its face. And of course this only applies in cold, dry weather.

Low end torque? Ok, I guess by definition an engine that has no top end would have to be considered low end. I just wouldn't associate the word "torque" with this engine.

My other vehicle is a Jeep Wrangler with tall gears and oversized tires, but it will smoke the Mazda all day long. That's sad.
