i mean seriously, no estimates, no bullshittin'!!! i just added up everything i could think of real quick, and came up with 1,320 dollars usd. i know that the turbos will be outlandish, but how much money have YOU spent "hooking up" your ride?:D

nuke...thats what sux, i spent THAT MUCH, and didn't even come close to placing in last weekends car show. its only the beginning, let me be the first to say it. rather you here it from an online buddy, then out the on the cruel, cruel streets!hehe. i plan on spending well over 20,000 dollars on an 18,000 dollar car, after all's said and done, though it'll prob be a low estimate.hehe

I have spent so much money on my ride my wife is about to take away my Credit Card.

$2,200.00 on Rims and Tires!
$624.00 on Sound System Upgrade!
$200.00 on Eibach Springs!
$68.00 on Floor Mats!
$48.00 on Seat Covers!
----------------------------------------------
$3.140.00:D

Oh! I forgot! $120 on Tints...
And I haven't even started on the Engine!:(

Note: I've only had My P5 for 3 Months!

haha how about zero, oh wait...i got my floor mats for 60 bucks. But im just graduating from high school, and i have plenty of scholarship money. So im hoping on taking the excess money (about 3000 for this upcoming school year) and giving my car a facelift. So if you think about it, going to college for four years will give me 12k in free money!!!

Only bought two things so far,
$175 AEM intake
$675 CF hood
So that's $850 all together but only two mods.

Well Derrick, this isn't really what you meant but:

$12,500USD Body Shop charges over two accidents (story available elsewhere on this fine website) Actual payout by yours truly: $1000. $500 to come back from scumbag Nissan #2's insurance.

$150USD Various rental cars (amount not covered by insurance)

$135USD New Dunlop tire on order to replace damaged one from hole in road.

Additional stuff:

$29USD for stupid "MAZDASPEED" shoulder harness pads that sit in trunk because they don't fit and look WAY too rice for my taste.

------

Real upgrades I will do:

Injen CAI (Carbon Fibre)
Sparco Torino seats $599/per
Simpson 5 point harnesses
Rollcage
set of rims & auto-x tires

PART TWO:

Forgot about:

Set of Semperit Directiongrip winter tires (195/70SR15) $85/per
Set of black takeoff Mazda 626 15 inch steel rims $25/per

I've spent about 10 bucks on some high-heat yellow paint...that's about it.

Then again us Canadians right off the hop pay about 6 grand more for our cars. :(

well Derrick....if you are wanting to SHOW your car and get in the running......and seeing as how you are showing a PRODUCTION car....stand by to spend some SERIOUS green to get there....I have been on the show car circut before....but NOT with a production car....with a custom. With a production car its a lot harder...since there can be a whole slew of others JUST like it in the same show...so you have to be different...YOU have to come up with something different...something to catch the judges eyes....if all you do is the same things that the OTHERS are doing...forget it....you have got to go one or two steps farther than the rest....and that will SERIOUSLY get in your wallet. The car I showed I built myself....I baught the car for $500....and put somewhere in the neighborhood of $13,000 into it. Sure, I have a wall of trophies for it....and had a blast driving it around....but you just gotta love it to do it.

here is my ride that I built.......

technically I dont have a production car. Do u mean custom like form the ground up or do you mean custom as in custom touches? If it's the second one my mind is busy working on them. With my "production" car I just happened to win a trophy today. I am NOT being cocky I am just saying it can be done. Now, all though I was not competeing in a huge field I was competeing none the less.

I saw your OTHER post...about the show..and CONGRATULATIONS again...

what do you mean your car isn't a production car? yes it is...limited production maybe...but it came off of an assymbly line none the less..

I was talking from the ground up custom....all I started with was a frame and a body...of which I cut nearly half of it away and started over....

The class you will compete in is fairly large....it makes winning just that much harder....there is so much for the judges to pick from.....they see nice cars all the time....to really get in the running....everytime.....you got to be a little different....its gotta be really cool.....and the points in a show add up. ya know....it wouldn't hurt if you could ever get your hands on a judging sheet, helps to know some of the little things they look for to get a few extra points.

Good Luck......the trophies are very rewarding. :{D

Im sorry if I came off as a smartass. i didnt know you were talking about totalyy custom
I truely dont have the money for that s***
so my plan of attack for the shows is to putmy twisted thoughts into custom stuff and implment it on the MP3 and thank you for the congradulations on the trophy. It looks really god on my window sill.

Derrick,
Congrats on the trophy! I finally won my first last year at the all Ford nationals in Carlisle and know how you feel. Remember to ask for the judging sheet if they have one. This will let you know what you did well in and what you can improve and modify...also, talk to the judges and ask them. They should be happy to give their opinions and observations. (I am a judge for the MCA... Mustang Club of America and can give you tips on what we look for in our shows). Good luck in the future shows!

Sir Nuke,

NICE JOB! Any other pics of interior, engine and undercariage? I love old street roda like that.

Anyways..nice job again to both of you.

And to answer the question to this post...about $600 for winter tires, steel rims and hubcaps. $50 for magnetic lettering for autocrossing. Thats it.

Norman, I have a few....but I don't have any of the NEW interior, the undercarriage was nothing special...it was undercoated for the utility of it....I drove the car regularly ....I didn't like the old or original interior that much....in fact when I got third at a show and it pissed me off considering who got first and the first thing I did was come home and rip out the entire inside with the exception of the seats and redid everything in black valour with lime green accents....just don't have any pictures....wish I did.

and you said you liked old street rods....would you believe that is a 1970 model car or at least it started life that way? and its a VW BUG on top of that? BELIEVE IT OR NOT! LOL I havn't had it for a while....I turned my interest and energy in a different direction about 10 years ago and sold it. I had a lot of fun with it while I had it though. and although I showed it....it was a driver....I NEVER trailered it anywhere...it was always driven.

So far I've spent:

$450 Can. on Muffler
$500 Can. on my Injen intake
$80 Can. cause I broke the selonoid valve while installing Intake
$40 Can. plus my labour on my grills
$850 Can. on my rims and a set of Yokohama Parada
$180 Can. on my tint
$ 50 Can. on pedals
$ 60 Can on lights

$2210 Can. This is not including the labour I put into it...

But I can't stop now....
