I have a 2008 Speedthree. Got the smoking exhaust problem a year into ownership. Changing to a thin, synthetic oil fixed it temporarily. When it came back a year later, they installed the ventilation kit and it hasn't smoked since, i.e., since last year.
My married daughter wants to buy the car and I told her about the smoking exhaust problem and explained that the warranty had been extended until, for this car, April of 2013. I will check with the dealer to be sure that the extended warranty will convey to a new owner.
What worries me is the worst-case scenario. She buys the car, the extended warranty runs out, and she is stuck with replacing the turbo.
Does anyone know how much that is likely to cost? Ball park figure??
Thanks.
