How much did you pay for your speed?

Ok guys,

This thread is for the people who have recently bought their speed within the last two-three months. I was waiting to see if I could find the color speed I wanted but I cant take it anymore!! I have to have one so I will be going to the dealership (today) if I can, but if not Tuesday for sure to get the yellow one! How much should I ask for the car? 16,000 firm or is that to low? Let me know

$16,000 is a good first offer, but don't be surprised or disappointed if they don't bite.

BTW price paid varies greatly from region to region.

Also yellow seems to be the slowest-selling color, so you have a pretty decent shot of getting it for $16,000 + TTL

Yeah, I figured yellow was having trouble selling but what the heck, as long as its a speed! Wanted blue but I cant find it at all....ohh well.......once again I wont go above 17000 since with rebates its 18,500 and I know I can talk em down a grand or two!

OTD I got mine for 18,080. Which I think is awesome. That was for the Laser Blue in Northern Jersey. Blue is very rare from what I heard from the dealer, but that could be BS though the car did have to come from Long Island.

In the Texas market, you're stupid to pay anything over 17. This doesn't apply everywhere but in Austin, they were selling MSPs for 15,595 just to get rid of them. I know two people that drove from out of state to come get MSPs due to the pricing...

Wouldve gotten 16300 (after rebate) from Gaithersburg Mazda, but all they have left now is yellow and silver.

I love the yellow paint, but I dont know if I can buy a yellow car. They just stick out too much so cops end up pulling you over cause you "look fast", haha.

Mine was straight up cash in one full payment due to some favorable circumstances in my favor. So I think that helped lower the cost for me.

Dealers will often give you a better deal if you finance through them, as they get a kickback on the financing. Cash deal is the same to them as if you obtained your own financing- they just get a check.

Anyway, I got mine in November for $17.7 when the rebate was only $2k. Check Edmunds to see what the rebate is now.

yeh i got mine back in early november...so that was a good deal then...a couple weeks after i got my car at rich morton mazda they dropped it down to 16k..i was pissed ...but hey i luv my car

I'm not saying you'll get better prices if you finance, I'm saying if you aren't an idiot, you should get the same price whether you finance or pay cash.

If you go and get financing from your local bank prior to going to the dealer, this is the same as a cash sale. The dealer just takes a check. Whether its from you, or from a bank is entirely indifferent.

Many dealers will have deals set up where they get a kickback from the bank they finance you with- usually you get stuck with a slightly higher rate to pay for that.

i got mine for 19 after 4k in rebates to apply to my neg equity which was 7k so all in all i paid 26,000 for mine!!!

Ouch 7k negative...that hurt! I talked to Munday Mazda today......he said 17,000 out the door...but hell NO!! Tease convinced me it should be cheaper now so I'm going for 16000 or 16500!!! Thanks for the inspiration tease....anyhow I am suppose to go up their Tuesday or Saturday! Hell yes Im finally getting a speed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (upbum) (nana)
