I'd be interested in knowing how well individual gas stations make out profit wise that is.

regular is 2.57 today in north dallas. and gas stations usually only make around
.02-.05 cents per gallon. it's the add-ons that they **** you on. usually charging you a 20% mark up on all goods. i used to manage a gas station. we did it all the time.

2.69 for 91 octane in arizona

I've seen the add-ons at more than 20%. i know that some stations sell washer fluid for twice what they paid for it....same with oil.

my old station would only mark it up 20% but one of our sister stations would screw you any chance it could. they would get quarts of oil for like .59 but would sell it for $2.00 that's a mark up

when i worked for pep boys, gas stations would by lots of basic supplies and really jack the price up.....whatever works, huh. When you need a quart of oil you need a quart of oil.

$2.67 for 87 last Friday. It doesn't have to stop. When it hits a peak price for a couple days we b****. Then it drops 8 cents and people feel like they're getting a deal. Then the next peak hits and drops back to the original price we first bitched about and all of a sudden it's a good deal. They've got us squirming on a hook. Nobody can easily change cars or where they work or live so we're screwed. Good thing we've got that new energy policy to help the consumers!

true.

$2.65 for regular in Gainesville, FL. Fuckers raised it 5 cents from the AM to when I went to get it.

man u guys in the states got it great...here on the east coast of Canada it went up today, to $1.17 per litre...for u guys thats $4.46 a gallon...ahhhhh

hit 2.64 in north dallas. some stations have it higher. luckily i filled up when it was ONLY 2.51!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i think i just got screwed without a reach around

Our gas just went up tonight. its 2.99 a gallon for premium. i cant even afford to drive my car when i get it back from the shop next week :( with my current driving habits it will cost me almost 400 a month for gas.

Makes you wonder. If they can make synthetic motor oil, why can't they make synthetic gasoline. Course once people stop driving cause they can't afford to fill up, prices will come down.

True. I paid 2.75 this morning. I don't mind where I work, pays not bad for light work, although I'm not learning anything either. But I have to job hunt to find something close to home. $8 a day for gas is getting painful. Luckly I have two kids so they can take turns eating every other day.

I think $3.00 pump price will be a threshold for a fair percentage of Americans. Then there will be more attempts at ride sharing, etc. But I think the industry will keep it just under that until next summer. Now I read that China has started on a huge windfarm, plus other renewables, so that in 15-20 years they'll have an energy surplus. Why can't the U.S. have an energy plan like that?
