How many XEDE users?

I've been searching around and it seems that there's not many XEDE users out there? An ECU tuner will be one of the last mods I do. It'll come down to either the AP or the XEDE. The AP does not seem too beneficial right now due to the lack of maps available. By the time I'm ready for the ECU tune, I'll have an MSCAI, TBE, TMIC or FMIC, Forge BPV.

Does the AP get rid of fuel cut and boost cut? Also would the XEDE give me full throttle control like the CPE Full control flash? It seems there's a lot of options for ECU tuning right now. Lastly, what does the interface to the XEDE look like? Is it simple enough that I can tune it myself on a dyno that graphs AFR and Boost?

I picked up the Xede for real cheap on the fly. I'm not going to hook it up and tune it until I have some more mods (right now I only have CAI, RP) and the PnP harness.

The Australian guys seem to really like the Xede, they seem to be very impressed with it. I know there are a handful of guys on this forum that use the Xede and are happy with it too. They seem to be content with their mods and this EMS, because they don't post very often.

This EMS is not going to be able to open up the throttle 100%, that is built into the ECU, there is no way to change that unless you flash it. Then again, unless you are running a bigger turbo or have a re-worked K04, there is really no reason to have the full-control flash. Mazda made the throttle close early because of the size of the turbo; once it passes a certain RPM, the turbo is losing all of its efficiency to heat, and is unable to make anymore power.

You should only use the base maps as a baseline for tuning. This is the same as any EMS. You should always have an EMS tuned on the dyno first, or at least tweak the base maps yourself if you know what you are doing. Any dyno shop that offers AFR tuning will be able to tune the Xede. Once I get that SteedSpeed manifold, bigger turbo and new downpipe, I will definitely be getting the PnP harness and heading for the local dyno shop. This isn't going to be for a few months though.
