$26,000 walk out?

What mods are there to do? I remember looking at a dyno for one that was lightly modded and they were thrilled to be almost breaking 200whp.

there are the canzoomer ecu mods which add 40+ hp with a test pipe an exhaust 10-15 hp, there is intake (5 hp) and the pulleys add about 9hp, it is almost impossible to dyno a rx8 so the #'s are not always right

Why is it hard to dyno a rotary? Or is it RX-8 specific?

not older rotaries are easy to dyno, the new rx8 has a problem if both wheels are not at the same speed it throws the computer for a loop, that is why the dyno #'s off them are all over the place.

yup, that's why i don't believe a WORD of all those dyno numbers

i've already seen RX-8s hanging neck to neck with 350Z's on a road track, and that's all that really matters.

The RSX-S guys are beating them all the time...not stock of course but still kinda sad.
ha ha yea the turbo rsx-s, there are a few with bolt ons and they can't even hang with my old 86 rx7 let alone a rx8 on a open road

Really? I've seen quite a bit about basic bolt on RSX-S's keeping up with, or beating RX-8's. iono...

In Vancouver the RX8 is doing about as well as the 350Z I think, they both aren't really popular. I guess its just that despite it testing and driving well, it just doesn't do anything for me ( beside the wheels, wink ), neither does the 350Z for that matter. If anything the G35 is my favorite, and is far more regular here than the other two combined.

The dealers have a serious problem. There are a TON of RX-8s on the lots. When the 2005s come out, I would not be at all surprised to see 2004s rolling off the lot for $21-$22k (or less).

hmmm...THAT could induce some evil thoughts of trade-in (evil)

i believe they are out selling the 350z, so they are moving them pretty well
Good, cause the 350z got pretty bad performance, lots of HP but when it comes to fancy manoeuvers, you can forget it, it got nothing. I personally like the RX-8 a whole lot better than any other type in it's class and when I can afford to have 2 cars all to myself I will probably buy one:D
