How many of you have voided warranties?

i dont think anyone wants to let mazda know who's "altered" their car.......

ive had the mazda guy tell me my intake was installed wrong and that what was causing the transmission slip.lol i have a protege but still, funny to listen to him talk. i just responded, its a pipe and a filter with a sensor between the two.lol

I responded to another member that it's very rare that Mazda NA will black-flag a VIN unless you've done something really extreme... like register a salvaged title. They DO document denied warranty claims with specifics such as aftermarket parts, insufficient required maintenance from the owner (i.e. following maintenance intervals), or suspected abuse.

I've had extended conversations about this with several dealer service managers, and a few reps from Irvine HQ. "Voided" warranties is often a misused term.

warranty voided on my 07 mazda 3, engine blown and had to put all rapairs on a credit card... first time ive ever been in debt. told me my warranty was reinstated because everything was stock and with new engine and all... 5 months later tranny goes (still stock) take it to another dealer because i moved they replace my tranny with a brand new one then call me and tell me it appears my warranty is voided...(other dealership never reinstated my warranty) i said **** that they put my old tranny back in then the next week i sold that car to them and bought my speed 3.

lesson to learn... no matter what you think/read/hear dont ever let your dealership see your car with any aftermarket parts on it no matter how simple the part is.

Now i lost my license lol so i dont get to enjoy the car til october 2009 :/

Many lessons learned these last few years... ill be doing a little growing up during the down time.
