Just trying to see how popular the RX-8 18in wheel swap is. How many of you have done the swap?? I have and love the understated look.....

Me!

Rx-8 wheels, Tein Basic coilovers (-2.1" front, approx. -1.8" rear), eibach rear camber links

Wow just the 2 of us then.... Guess this will be a rare mod for MZ3 owners.... BTW sok07 I have one of your deadpedals got it summer last year. I want one with the axela lettering instead of the Mazda3 lettering. Hows the wait time these days??

I guess it's not a popular swap in this forum. Looks like i need to take new pics. I didn't have an exhaust back then...

Hi guys, I am new to this site and new to the Mazda 3 world. This is my first post. I am not much of a car nut but want to make some suttle changes to my 3 when I get it.

I will be purchasing a Mazda 3 GT Sedan in a month or two. I chose it over the Honda Civic SI, glad I did.

Anyways, I love the look of the RX 8 rims on the 3. Did the dealer install these for you when the vehicle was purchased. Was this an option? I am not sure how to go about doing this. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

you have to buy the wheels locally or through ebay, gotta install 225/40R18 tires and it will fit while lowered.

Will they fit with the factory tires when not lowered?? It looks like both thebeansoldier and sok07 have lowered there 3's.

no, as the highest factory tires are 17in. RX8 wheels are 18x8 (stock is 16x6.5 or 17x6.5) which is why you need new tires. They look fine un-lowered on a black 3. Any other color and you see an ugly wheel gap.

TeamCanada how did you manage to get Potential Scammer label in 2 posts?

It has something to do with the system upgrade, It seems every noob will have that label until its fixed.

Not sure, I have never posted on this site until now. I hope this label doesn't continue to come up and that it is a website issue.

All I am looking for is some good advice.

Good, I am looking at the carbon grey mica so that color should be fine.

Although, lowering the vehicle is not out of the question. There are a couple local shops that I will have to check out.

This may be a bit off topic but is there anything that will void any part or all of the vehicle warranty when it comes to installing after market rims, modifying the suspension, or any mechanical modifications to the vehicle??

Again, I am not a big car guy so if this sounds like a stupid question, I appologize.

mazda 3 GT? is that a canadian thing? I didn't think Mazda made a "GT"

Must be. In Canada, the 5 door is the Mazda 3 Sport, same as the U.S. I think. There is a GS and GT model. The Mazda 3 sedan has a GX, GS, and GT model. Basically the GT model is loaded over the GX and GS versions. I think the only thing the GT does not come with is leather. That is an option on both the sedan and the sport.

The engine is the GX and GS is a 2.0L while the GT models have the 2.3L.

I'm a protege owner and hadn't really looked at the 3's that much, but it looks like we have the s, s Touring and the s Grand Touring in the Hatchback, and than the i, i Touring, s, s Touring, and the s Grand Touring for the sedan.

depends on which part of the car the aftermarket part is installed into. They're not going to void your warranty if you have an intake and have a suspension problem; or void warranty on your engine if you lowered the car.

Now if your engine accidentally suck in water with your aftermarket intake-- that's a different story.
