i'm looking to get coilovers.
how low can i go before things start rubbing?
car:
2008 speed 3
stock18" rims and tires

lowering springs ride better than coilovers unless you get the really expensive kind, put some tein h-techs on (my preference), drop you like an 1"-1.4"...

You should be able to go pretty damn low. Also I am anti Tein suspension. I've not been happy with any of it. We have Eibach springs on the 3 and while they are ok, they just aren't low enough. The car still has goofy wheel gap even with the 18's. Your best bet would be to roll the fenders. I have yet to do it mostly because it's the wifes car and I'm kinda lazy to even put it on there. But this is how I do it. I put it as low as the car will go and raise until it just becomes drivable then go up another half inch. It's not a mazda but my A4 rocks H&R coilovers and I love them and have put them on every car I've built but our P5 which I put tein basics coilovers and they just simply sucked ass, they couldn't even go that low without the stupid springs popping of the perches and they weren't progressive so they rode like complete ass as well. Here's my car. I prefer the low life. I run a 9" wheel all around and have zero rubbing, it's all in setting the car up to how you want it.
