Gonna have it for quite a while. Unless the MS6 gets me hooked. No there won't be much aftermarket specific for the msp, but there will be a TON for the Protege.. As the P5 and sedans get cheaper, the same type of guys who buy mid 80s / early 90s civics today will be picking up 3rd gen proteges and the aftermarket will increase huge IMO. That includes internals, turbo kits, etc. I bought the msp because it is rare and good, which is the same reason I'm going to keep it for a long time. Just needs a little more power...

I plan on keeping this car for a very long time. It is everything I wanted plus some and it is amazing to me. I just love it.

Im totally agree with you this car amazing and the looks is great.Im going to have it for a long time plus I think that later in this year and the next year big or small companies are going to release parts for our mazdaspeed we just need to be patient.

Long haul, I still have my old accord:) I will probably have 3 grand in mods by the end of the year, and it is hard to let something go that you have put so much money into. But I would like AWD, but I don't like the look of the WRX and the EVO is pushing way to much PSI for me to think it will stick up as a good Daily driver for years to come...

AGR: The Cooper S seems cool, but it got one of the worst reliability ratings ever...kind of like when the Focus first came out.

pates03: I SERIOUSLY doubt you'll ever see an MS6...I honestly don't even think they'll make the MS3.

you could go for an audi - the quattro system is very nice. of course, your price range needs to be pretty large to buy an audi in the first place.

I would like to get a 2nd car around the time I graduate from college. 2006 should be the year that a lot of the cool stuff comes out. All I know is I want something turbo & it can't be FWD.

I will keep my car for at least five years. I may even keep it longer, due to the fact it is always good to have a third car, incase the two main units break down. I have my paid off 98 Kia Sephia in this particular role right now. (thumb)

In addition, This is the first car I have owned where I have had an experience like this; i.e. hanging out with others who own the same car. It was like when I bought the car it had hidden options: new friends, fun things to do like meets & etc. So with that said; those are just a few of the reasons I would keep the car for a while!!!

jaja thats funny you are the only guy that i know that have a kia sephia 98. Do you have mods in that car?? i do have headers, cat-back and custom intake and runs fast but i need to repair the engine and make it more fast and maybe put a custum turbo (streetkiaz.com)

I plan on keeping mine for ever. Every car that I own was purchased brand new. The MSP is a solid car with a lot of potential. Everything it needs to make it a real performer is available or in the works. I plan on fortifying the engine and upgrading to a larger turbo when the warranty is up!

MSP FOREVER (thumb)

Def till its paid off then we'll see what I do. I would love to build the internals up and get new axels. And tune it down for econo driving and up for performance. Unless I get an good deal on a EVO...then its out the door with the MSP

I will be keeping this car for awhile.. when I graduate from univeristy I plan to purchase an aditional vehicle... either the EVO 9 (released in 2006 in canada woohoo!), the next skyline GTR which is supposed to hit north america by 2007 at the latest... soo hot... or as my other choice I may import a car from japan and build it as my track b**** (RHD sil80 or s13 would own maybe r32)

.......then; I will be looking at possibly, an S2000 or 350Z, or maybe even a Cooper S.(rockon)

A Cooper S is sitting the garage right now (going to be detailed by the roomie). I drove it and it was very nice. Very nice handling and for whatever reason, every time I stepped on the gas she just kept whining (dunno) (headbang)

even though it's just a p5 i'm keeping mine for a long long time.. especially since I got the title for it two days ago
i figure when I hit my midlife crisis this will be the "family car" and then I'll go buy my Vette.. or maybe one of the newer GTOs.. i hated them at first but damn if they're not growing on me since I've been seeing this one guy's blue one quite often.

I am keeping my Mazdaspeed for a very long time and will run it until it dies. I love my car. My future wife and I will be looking for an AWD vehicle sometime in the future and right now it's between the WRX, Forester, and Tribute. But if the Mazdaspeed 3 gets released and it's the 240hp AWD version I will be sorely tempted to make our family a double mazdaspeed garage.

Yeah, I want to keep this car until the next "Mazdaspeed" (3 or 6) is released. I am afraid that because I am having problems with my MSP now, I can't imagine what issues I may be dealing with 4 years from now. I bet they are going to be problems that I cannot fix myself and will cost me a lot of money.

If the Mazdaspeed 3 is 240HP AWD, I'm trading it in for that.
-----WORD----

2.3LITER and have you seen the interior in those there bad ass,and the gauge display is sick s***!
but I'll probaly keep my MSP till I total it.and if the motor pops or anything goes out it just gives me a reason to replace it with something better.

i've had my car now for almost 8 months... I have about 20,200 miles on it, and i still owe WAAAAAAY too much money on it...

id dont think this car is goin anywhere anytime soon.

If i do anything, im gonna import a 25+ year old right-hand drive mini...

Use the mini as my beater, garage the MSP and start buildin the hell out of it... then whenever im done buildin the msp, i'll bring her back out and unleash the fury :D

Well I'll probably be getting rid of the MSP this time next year. I'll be graduating with a degree in Finance, and my parents said they will buy me a faster car for graduation. I wanted a bike, but they won't do that, so we compromised for a car. I'm going with an EVO or STI. I may keep the MSP if I can afford to insure both, we'll see.
