Hi all,

I live in Montreal, Canada, and have a 2000, Protege, 1.6L
We have quite a bit of snow here in the winter, and as a result of the salt/calcium they use to melt the snow on the roads, the car is rusting apart.
I have a few parts that look like parts of a ship wreck, the steel peeling of in layers,...but the body is in pretty good shape, and it runs well

No my question is: being 10 years old; is it worth it to:
a- keep on putting money for the coming repairs (i know they are coming!)
b- keep repairing things with wire, and band-aids, until one day I'll just have to leave it somewhere by the side of the road, and take a taxi back home.
c- sell it now, while there is still something to sell. It's Probably worth somewhere between 500 to 1000$

What do you think?
Thanks in advance

Gerry

I now what your talking about! I live in Qubec to, (north of mtl) Put up some picture of your car to see what it look's like and will probably help you more this way...

Keep repairing it man. I was thinking of selling my car a while back, but have decided to keep it after all. Currently I'm at 161,500 miles and going strong. Have been boosted for over 61,000 miles. Original clutch and original rear drum brake pads. Last time few months ago I've inspected the rear brakes and they have about 50-70% of life left in them. How? I don't know..... especially with pulling the e-brake few times around the corners lol. My car grew on me. I'm happy with it. As should you ^_^
