How long did your Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tires last?

I recently passed 27K on my MS3 and had to get four new tires. My OEM Bridgestones pretty much had no tread left. I wanted to find out if anyone else ran down their tread and how many miles it took them to do it.

I'm at a little over 10k and I have tons of tread left... I rotate mine everytime I get my oil changed though because I have negative camber on both front and rear and don't want my tires getting eaten because of it!!

I just put my Potenzas back on for the summer a few weeks ago and with 10,000 miles on them they basically look new. I guess I need to drive it harder! Seriously though I've heard a lot of complaints with tread life but I'm not having any issues. As long as you're not doing burnouts on a daily basis I think the treadwear is decent for a performance tire.

noo...maybe one time to warm up my tires(for like 5 seconds) before racing mustang gt which was smoked by 3 links(cheers2)
but it was like hard pull than a burnout

I am at almost 21k now and will do 1 last rotation and they are done so I predict about 23-24k total. Dont freak out when you see them initially wear very fast because the second layer is a harder compound and will last much much longer then the first layer which was the softest.

If you dont drive like a **** head the car wont break and your tires will last, amazing isnt it. LOL. You race track a $23k car which by racing standards is cheap as hell then things start to break hence all the complaints some have and the negatives things said about the very same car I have which runs perfectly. I sort of treat this car as it is fun to drive fast here and there but dont try and launch it or get the bet 0-60 on weekends. I imagine if you did things all go south very fast.

Call me old or responsible but at 29 the car thing doesnt seem as fun as it used to be when I was 21. CAI and I am dont modding it and wait 3 years for another new toy.

So anyone who's tires didn't last up to 20k drove it like a "**** head"?

I'm sorry but you are completely out of line! The Mazdaspeed3 was built for enthusiasts who aren't always going to baby the s*** out of it. Burning rubber doesn't mean someone is driving like a "**** head" like you phased it.

^ Can someone interpet this for me? Just sounds like a bunch of venting over not having the ballz to take risk from time to time.

Just because someone likes to test the limits of a car doesn't mean they are driving it like a "**** head"

i got 12k so far on them and the ones i had up front are a little worn but the backs were just fine.

I'm thinking its directed to the people who are constantly beating the crap out of the car and adding all kinds of s*** to it and then complain when something breaks.

However I take mine to the auto-x and road courses on occasion and still haven't had any problems
