Someone please explain to me the deal with holding the TCS OFF for 10 seconds....
It seems Mazda does not trust us to drive around with TCS turned off, either that or it is because it is tied in with dynamic stability control, roll stability control abs, and other stuff, it just does not have the ability to separate itself while driving.
If you turn TCS off while at a stop or under 9mph, it turns itself back on once you accellerate past 9mph.
So in the owners manual, it references holding in the TCS button for 10 seconds, but I don't understand what this accomplishes? Perhaps my brain is just not smart enough to figure this out. So the system re-engages after 9mph, but it seems like it is saying if you hold the button in for 10 or more seconds, it will also re-engage. But it re-engages if you tap the button and turn it back on anyway. Someone please explain the second paragraph to me in laymans terms cuz i'm stumped:
If the TCS is OFF when the vehicle speed is
more than 15 km/h (9 mph), it
automatically activates and the TCS OFF
indicator light will turn off.
If the TCS OFF switch is pressed and held
for 10 seconds or more, the TCS OFF
switch malfunction detection function
operates and the TCS and DSC/RSC system
activates automatically. The TCS OFF
indicator light turns off while the TCS
system is operative.
?????????????????????????????
