That looks like a sport (based on the lack of a trip computer...only the odometer/trip meter). Those paddles on the back of the steering wheel work in conjunction with the automatic transmission. Often referred to as "paddle-shift" or "tiptronic (in the US)", each paddle changes the gears. Left one changes down, and the right one changes up. I think the paddles just send an electrical signal to the transmission - I don't think there are any mechanical linkages there (someone else correct me if I'm wrong).
