i apply the good old 3 step from Mac in a circilar motion with the lil cloth pads i buy from pepboys and buff out with 100% terry cloth rags that get washed right after i use them and thats all i use them for.

do the micro fibers make a big difference?

I do a few circles, then use striaght lines with each application. On the top I go in one direction, and on the sides, I go another. i.e on the hood, I go in straight lines from the front bumper towards the windshield, and on the sides, I use up/dwn motions.

NEVER wash your car in circles. Circles = swirls.

I've used Mothers products before, they are all pretty good.

I gotta recommend Zaino. www.zainobros.com Absolutely incredible. Expensive, but worth it!!!!!

Support a local company! They are based in Howell, NJ :)

I custom made a bracket to put a buffer on my gas powered weed wacker. I use wax from candles i bought. excellent results

that is damn ghetto, but whatever works lol

pep boys have the Eagle One NANOWAX for like $10. There is a rebate form in the package that lets you get $10 back so basically you just pay tax on a bottle of wax plus for .37 for a stamp. Haven't tried this yet.

You can also get their tire shine with an applicator right on the bottle and this stuff is also free after mail in rebate. however i used it and found it a b****. the applicator is too big for protege low profile tires and the tire shine just refused to come out through the pad but came out from under the cap.

i went to autozone to get meguiars nxt wax and its all sold out. now i have to drive further to spend $14 on a bottle of wax for our meet

Has anyone tired "Mothers" Wax/Polish? I heard that it is very good.
I use their 3 step system, the scratch remover is useless but the wax hold up better then mequires that wore off in a few weeks.

I use Zaino Bros. Stuff is expensive, but its definately amazing. Their swirl remover took all the swirls from teh car wash out of my paint, then their final wax is just amazing. I apply it with their applicator pad then wipe off with a 100% cotton towel (made is USA). On the hood, roof, and trunk i go in lines from front to back, and on the sides i go up and down.

i used mothers for years. An absolute b**** to put on. But it does indeed last longer then anything I've used from meguiars.

That being said, after Zaino, I'm never EVER going back to mothers.

I put 3 coats of z2 on today, and I never broke a sweat.

When you say "3 coats", that means you applied 1, then took it off, then applied another, right?

Well, you apply it, let it sit. once it turns to a white paste buff it off ( very fine and hard to see though) you start over and add another layer(coat). You can let zaino sit for as long as you want and it doesn't matter. It might if she's in direct sunlight, but I don't do the car like that.

Ohhhhhhh, so it doesn't mean that you apply one coat, let it dry, wipe it completely off, and start all over? Wow, I've never done it like that! I gotta put some time apart just to give my baby like 3 coats! Thanks!
