How do you fix Wheel Hop

I was goofing around in the MSP tonight and some first and second gear adventures caused an insane bit of wheel hop, as soon as the thing started to wheel hop I let off but I don't wanna have to worry about it, or break anything. How can I fix this problem. My Beetle never did this nor does my Cougar. Help!!

i'm having the same problems too, most ppl seem to get AWR Motor Mounts... and from my understanding it makes the ride more stiff, and vibrates more?

Anyone care to chime in? about the feel after you break in as well as before, and as far as eliminating all of it iun think it does but it does, someone lemme know.

Got both AWR's in. Little bit of vibration, still have wheel hop. Not much though, but it's still fairly pronounced. The mounts don't affect the ride, but they make driving much more enjoyable by getting rid of 99% of the slop.

yep. the slop is gone and only a little more vibration is present, no more than i'm used to. the car will handle better too :)

My snow tires don't hop at all...they just spin madly. Even trying to get hop on dry pavement doesn't work.

can anyone estimate and throw out a %rate of how much AWR Mounts will get rid of the wheel hop..

wow i phrased that weirdly.

get springs, no wheel hop, no vibration, just good weight transfer. pm ion for some good ass springs for a damn good price.

TO sure wheel ho you can get the mounts, then every single little vibration in the engine (theres a s*** load of them) will be transmitted directly to the rest of the car. You'll HELP(not cure) wheel hop.

ok so you replace the all the mounts they eliminate most of the hop but make it vibrate more, what exactly vibrates im confuzed on that part.

yeah, springs almost totally stopped my wheel hop and almost took .5 seconds off my 1/4 mile. I was surprised but thats all i installed between the two runs (14.443 to 14.1)

the car doesnt vibrate as much people make it to be, you feel the engine vibrate a little bit more.

the soft stock springs have a good affect on wheel hop...also the fact our stock tires have very stiff sidewalls.....im gettin the front mount only and coilovers...ill see how that solves the wheel hop

I sure wish we could get a definitive answer on this.....I swear 50% of the people say the vibration isn't that bad and the other 50% say the vibration is horrendous. Just recently there was a thread where a few people said they de-installed them because they just couldn't take the vibes anymore. Can somebody take an in-car video or something with the AWRs.....I have the AWRs sitting right here in my living room and since they've arrived I've been scared into not installing them!!:( :(

I think its personal preference. Some arent gonna mind the car vibrating a little at idle, and others will hate it.
With just the frount motor mount in, the car is noticeable stiffer, but at idle it does vibrate a bit. Its not bad at all, and it has gotten better.

I only have the front one in. On dry pavement I would say wheel hop has been reduced 65%, on wet pavement I think it has been reduced close to 85% JUST with the front.

I don't mind the vibration anymore, it's nice feeling the car on your steering wheel a little more, and you only really notice it shake when you're under 1k rpms.

Put the front one in to try it out, it's such a quick easy job that you could always take it out if you don't like it.
