How do you adjust the air pressure for wider and narrower tires?

We all know what pressure to fill our stock tires to since it is writen on the door. But what if you are using a snow tire like a 215/55 r 16? Or what if you are using a wider tire like a 235/40r18? How do we determine what we fill these sizes to?

I think you will need to increase pressure for the snow tire example and decrease pressure in the wider tire, that would only make sense right?

No. Do it the other way around. The specified tire pressure Mazda tells you is occured in the cold. So in the warmer temperature, you would need to increase the pressure by 2 or 3 PSI IIRC. In the cold, decrease it back to the default pressure for better traction.

I believe what you are refering to is filling up your tire in the summer then winter comes around and the tires are low and need to be filled. And when filled in the winter when summer hits they will need air let out.

I am reffering more to the size difference and not to temp changes when I use the snow example and the summer example.
