How do I open the Kenwood sub?

I had the battery disconnected while working on it, but had to hook it up to move my car in the morning for the street sweeper...so it could have happened then since all the s*** was disconnected. Just to be sure, the order of the wires on the right of the sub should be blue, black, yellow, correct? (starting closest from the rear)

I don't know. Yellow is power, blue is remote turn on and black is ground be sure they are conencted to the amp properly if you disconnected them.

Sigh, well I checked everything, fuses, etc and nothing seems to be out of place. I finally broke down...I'm going to the dealership. Thanks for your help, though.

Hah, apparently I put in a fuse in the wrong outlet. I'm a tard. Anyway the sub is still acting funny. Dealer's replacing it. Done.

If you took out the sub and dissconnected the wires you might have connected the wires wrong!! Just a thought I did that the other day

No, they were connected fine...apparently the fuse was missing (according to the dealer. I have no idea how that happened since I was careful with them..anyway that explains why the unit wouldn't flip over. They said the sub was still acting funny still, so they ordered a new one :-) problem solved. Heh, easier than I thought..although they did try and get me to clean my fuel injectors and throttle body..I was like ummmm...no.

i got my sub replaced at the dealer sounds 50 million times better no ratlle wats so ever best part was that they were in backorder for it me one that was sposed to go on another speed (a guy that i know and lives right by me too) but i guess they like me better :D

Well, it didn't look like anything was touched. I put everything back fine. Except maybe a fuse...lol. Your warrantly can only be voided if what you modify directly affects the part broken also. Read the Magnuson act (sp?), it's good stuff.

Wish I saw this earlier, I could have told you right of the bat that it was not loose wiring, but that the sub is blown. This is a common problem and it is listed in the sticky of common problems in the MSP section. I had mine go out, and I got it replaced. It isn't a "pop, the speaker is blown" kind of thing, it can come in and out, making you think that the wiring is loose. Now my replacement just recently blew out, and I'm going to replace it with an aftermarket sub this time. Hehe, maybe I'll see if the dealer will replace it again, and sell off the kenwood to help pay for my new speaker that will(hoepefully) not go out after a couple months use.
