How do I determine my MS3's Production Number?

OK were off, here we go from left to right and this applys to all mazda 3's not just the speed.

JM1BK123*7#123456

JM1 is the world manufacturer id
BK is the carline and series
1 is the restraint system
2 is the body style
3 is the engine type
* is check digit
7 is the year
# is the plant made
123456 serial number


This is from the 2007 mazda wiring service manual.

I don't believe they are. I can't have the same engine block that you have, i.e., you may have engine block #1 whereas I may have engine block #17. Just a hunch, but probably worth its weight in feathers since the same blocks are used for MS6s and CX-7s.

No..Its a Vehicle ID..Not a motor ID....Wont be stamped in the motor if thats what your getting at. Only motor info is stamped in the the motor.

We know that since the first Post. Tha Man told us that in the 3rd post I think.
I think they might have stamped the number inside the catalitic converter. Can anyone check that for us?(laugh) (mj)
