How about 19"

So what is the general idea of everybody with riding on 19" wheels. I have been checking out alot of the rides and almost everyone is keeping with the 18". Is that because nobody wants to spend the extra money on getting new bigger rubber or is more than that. Does is cause trouble with rubbing. I just got the mazdaspeed coilovers installed and am now considering upsizing to get 19" wheels and rubber. Since there seems to be alot more options to choose from when picking out a set of wheels. I know this forum is great for giving feedback so let me hear it.

i believe its due to rubbing issues. If you already are running coil overs, i'm sure you have little to no room to play around with up there. Search around, people running coil overs and 18s are even have rubbing issues. 19s with Coil overs might be a little crazy. But WHO knows.

If you have a MS3 you need to look into some smaller rims and get some slicks and radials take that SOB to the track. I really wouldnt consider it a show car. Just my opion.

depends on the offset and width, and you'd definitely have to get those fenders rolled. and how low you want to drop the coilovers.

well that just made my decision much easier. I just had this little voice in my head that said bigger is better and i didn't truly believe it, now i know for sure it wouldnt make sence to put 19".

you would have to get some rubberband tires to mount on 19 the 40's and our stock suspension are hard enough for daily driving.

18" are on our cars purely for show. 17" is a better choice for performance driving and some ppl on here have moved all the way down to 16" to lower unsprung weight.

If you go with something smaller like a 17 inch wheel with more rubber, generally (although I'm sure someone will slam me for this) the car will grip better and give you a smoother ride, and maybe better gas mileage depending on the weight of the new wheels. But I do realize smaller tires = stiffer sidewall.

All other things being equal, sidewall stiffness depends on the aspect ratio of the tire. That equates to sidewall height. The 'taller' (50 is taller than 40)the tire, the less stiff the sidewall.

I think he said they weigh 16 lbs.

About the designs, I think you should have someone cut them out of vinyl and install them.

I run some no-name brand 16's with snows during the winter. The rear calipers have plenty of room but the front one is very close, so close that I cant get my finger between the rim and the caliper.
