HOUSTON, AND SURROUNDING AREAS and who ever else wants to make this happen.

holly crap. the one time i want to start getting something together i get horribly busy(work, school, no internet at the house). but from what i read from everyone it seems like we should try to make something on a friday or saturday, later on in april, maybe 22nd or 23rd??? thats about 25 days away i think so by then we could have better plans than what i failed at first(i blame life) since so far theres not that many of us.... id say the best idea would be to meet somewhere we can eat(fast food or restauraunt).

That will work for me. By the end of April I should be tuned and back from Dallas :). Around what location would everyone agree to go around Houston?

I'm down for it...I'm sure the Project M crew would like to do it too. we've been thinking about doing monthly meets (aside from our team meets) just for the mazda scene in Houston.

ok lets do it like this, to be fair to everyone, tell us if your in north, south, east, west houston and if your in or outside of the city of houston(i.e. anything 10 minutes plus out side the loop) i would say north of houston would be ideal like the spring area because its really open lot wise and cops arent too bad about modded cars and unsactioned meets. but by knowing everyones info then we can make it as equal distant as possible for everyone

im in! i live in katy so anywhere will be fine for me. i work on saturday but i could get off around noon. so whats the plan?

ok, so from what i have seen so far, i thought of one location, Frys electronics off the north freeway and westroad, i pick this because theres 5 different businesses in that area that basically have combined lots so plenty of space, and right off of 45 frontage road just incase we need to leave *cough* *cough* theres whataburger, and taco bell in the same lot, and a seafood restauraunt like right behind frys. of course since this is early we can come up with the three best ideas and then vote, id say end of the second week of april we should vote on it.

Id say to make it bigger if you know anyone else who has a mazda but isnt on here, id say invite them, i know 3 different people who arent on the forums but would probably come(1 slammed miata, a slightly modified mx5, and a slightly modded rx8)

Next question, should we make this just a mazda specific meet, or free for all? obivously free for all would bring a larger crowd, but can lead to more problems with cops showing up for stupidity.

I say we just have a "MAZDA" meet only. If you have a buddy that wants to go let him jump in your ride and tag along. I can see people bring there friends, then there friends are going to bring THERE friends etc... That's what Westheimer nights are for and we pretty much voted no for that.

That's 40 minutes away from where I live. If we can have everyone put down there times for what ever place people come up with, then it'll make the voting a little easier. If you can think of better and more reasonable place then post it. Once we found a place EVERYONE will be ok with, more people will probably show up and it'll be a successful annual meet in Houston.

I live in the Spring/Woodlands area, so Fry's is like 30 min max from me. I'm happy with that. Plus who doesn't love Fry's Electronics?

Put me down for a +1.

Im not in the H Town area but instead of making it all complicated voting and lists and what not why not just have a meet at all of the places like one month here the next
month there and the next month at the place over there to the left behind the other building ect...

you know what i mean this way the scenery changes and its on everyones side of town..this way the cops dont see you every month at the same place you change it up...im reading through this and its way to much work for a meet IMO

we started doing a once a month meet here between austin/san marcos/san antonio and to keep it fair the venue changes last month was in austin this month is in san antonio and next month will be in the place over there to the left behind the other building in san marcos...just my 2 cents but i think it will be easier doing it that way

all in all its not that hard setting up meets i run weekly meets here in houston for the past 2 years now, and all you really need is permission from the place you will be having a meet and just notifying local pd that you will be in the area....honestly not that hard at all.

ok yeah thats cool im 32 minutes away from Frys electronics, and ok, mazda meet only sounds good, least it will be easier to keep organized and controlled. Next, i think that since so far its not a huge meet, i dont feel like we have to notify the Pd or buisnesses, if you look on google maps at that location the lot is huge and i dont think an adittional number of cars is going to hurt anything especially if its away from the business. Now of course if it was 25+cars then yeah id see the reason too, but most businesses have never gotten upset with the meets ive been too that werent properly permitted(only if people are vandalizing with burnouts and trash).

Second from what i see so far, we could find a location five minutes south of frys since that will make everyones drive about 35 minutes and that would be more fair for nocturnal. Now I do like the venue changes but i think we should have a few solid meets at one place for the time being, that way, all the mazda fans out there can see this is a legit monthly meet. from what ive seen the more you change the venues when the more people start dropping out because its A. too far. or B. they cant make it. Least if we can get a couple solid meets in and we decide to change venues the month later least we will know that there will still be a handful of people going.
of course this is just my opinion and what ive seen before. Throw more locations and times out!

i am good if its on a friday night, i close just about every sat night off by 10, im in katy/cypress,theres a houston meet area in the texas section we used to have good ones back in the day...
