Hotchkiss rear swaybar question

I wanted to adjust my sway bar, but I forgot which way to go. I'm on the medium setting now...to adjust it stiffer would I move to the hole closest to the bar or to the open end? I thought it was the bar, but I can't remember for sure, and can't find the paperwork.
