This happens infrequently, but just after starting the car and driving away I get a "hooting" noise. It sounds a bit like a kazoo. I assume it is something to do with the air intake because it goes away after the car is warmed up and never occurs at higher engine speeds than leaving a parking lot or while parked.

I believe that is normal. Your description may vary from other's experience but I've read other similar reports and have heard it myself under the same or similar conditions as you report. There might even be a mention of it in the manual, but don't quote me on that.
I suspect this is correct, but just in case, I'd check your front grill, just in case you have same issue as this woman:

LOL...I thought of that just after I posted.
I can confirm no owls (of any variety) stuck in the grill.
