Hood Lift System

First Post Woohoo.

Anyways I was looking at http://www.redlinetuning.com/index.html and they make hood lift kits and want to make one for pretty much every car they can get in their shop. They mainly try to use factory points to mount their lifts.

I live in Virginia or I'd be there in a heartbeat.

The only other group I see with hood lift kit is AutoExe - http://www.autoexe.co.jp/english/car/gj.html for 20,000 yen.

If anyone live there or near there it would be great if you can try to contact them(email on the page), they'd feature your car in the setup guide and you'd get the system free.

Looking forward to being a part of this community.

Welcome, but it would be nice if you indicated where Redline is physically located. It is not obvious from their website.

I stand corrected, they're in SE Michigan, broadly speaking, and it's something I would gladly buy once available for our cars.

OP, you might also post your request on the Mazda 6 Club. It's also a forum, just much more traffic for the Mazda 6. No spaces and add .com

Some of the members there have excellent imput on all aspects of the Mazda 6, especially 3rd gen.

Wow... I know I typed it... I probably took it out to correct something.

They're located in Dexter, Michigan. I will also try my hand out at the other message board later too.

205$ USD for the autoexe one. jeezo

I had converted it but didnt want to post it.

I'm hoping someone in/near Dexter contacts them. Free for them, $90 for me... better than $205 and then waiting from shipping to japan. Also figured I'd help someone out too while I'm at it.

My 2003 taurus had them stock(I think)... so when I have to prop a hood for something 10 years newer... feels... weird.

Guys, I'm starting to get antsy on the hood lift system. Redline tuning and Corksport may or may not get to this in the next year, if ever. Autoexe is damn pricey on this item, and then add shipping/tariffs from HK. Still, there's a US distributor called Mazmart, and I'm going to give them a call. I wonder if a Group Buy would make the price less sharp. A single purchase with US shipping will probably push 3 large, but that is one heavy hood (for such a "light" car), and I hate the hood prop almost as much as the unobtrusive (to many) wind noise.

I'll get with Mazmart (their main business is used Mazda parts) tommorrow and nail down the specifics. If anybody is interesteed, I'm happy to share what I get out of them.
