Home theater question

I usually know within the first 15 minutes of owning a piece of electronics whether I made a good purchase or not. With cheap items their downfall is almost always useability. There is a very small price difference between a 3" satalite speaker and a 4" satalite speaker for the manufacturer. There is a much bigger price difference when you consider Quality assurance and decent programmers to design a user interface that works.

The good news is that you can go to most stores and play with the products before you bring them home. Try to switch sources, change the sound mode, turn up the volume, etc. You will find out pretty quickly whether care was taken in designing the unit.

I'll let you know how it works out - it should arrive tomorrow (2thumbs)

onkyo products are nice......this especially for under $300.00

INTEGRA products are nice. Onkyo is an established name that's unfortunately being used on some lower level equiptment to push sales because ppl see a name and think that means it's good. Not to knock it, I've owned many onkyo/integra products and they've served me well. But again, TAKE BRAND NAMES WITH A GRAIN OF SALT.

And of course, since when does cheap mean nice?

not everyone has a need or a desire to spend 1k+ on an audio system for their ******* studio apartment in a high-rise building with neighbors on every side

low end to you isn't low end to me, and probably most people - this is by far the nicest piece of equipment I've ever owned, much more than I need, and something I will keep as long as I can

poseur, your help is no longer required on this thread..
