I have had a pretty loud system for some time now. It has went from a
98 Dodge Stratus to a 03 MS Protege and finally to my 04 Mazda 3s. I have always had a problem with a rattle because of the SPL. In the Mazda 3 it was the roof mounted spoiler.
Recently I decided to motivate myself and go down to the local Ace Hardware. I purchased some window weather stripping. The roll cost about $8.00. I took off the spoiler, cleaned the area undernieth with rubbing alcohol, and applied the stripping around the spoiler on the lip where it hits the window. I also applied stripping on the car where the spoiler hits. It takes a little manuevering to get the stripping so that you can't see it. In the end the rattle is gone. It sounds so much better.
I think that this is one of the cheapest mods for people into upgrading their sound system. Way cheaper then Dynamat. Hopefully it helps someone else out.
