home made custom front bumper

i made it myself though not the best i'm still trying to get it level and smooth. had an evo5 bumper

but it stuck out longer than stock plus with the lower stance of my car i had to make ugly angles to get to places. so i made one out of the stock bumper because it was shorter and simple just needed to be extended down some to line up with the rest of the kit i bought and provide air for the MAM SS kit front mount. i may try to upgrade the front mount to a little bigger size just to fill it up plus i plan on putting in mesh to protect that front mount from rocks and birds. don't hold back but wanted some honest opinions and please don't copy it since its copyrighted and i may try to make a add on kit from a molding of it when money and interest allows it.

Thank god you got rid of that bumper. A local kid I know with a yellow p5 has one. From day 1 I told him get rid of it, it looks like straight up crap. I could sit on that thing. But he still has it on and its all chipped and looks like s***.

But, I do like what you have done so far with the new prototype bumper.

thanks even though being the only local protege in this town it did get some people saying they liked the aggressive look of it but worked very good as a drink holder

true i though about it, but everyone has it so in a small quest to be different i came with this. beside i liked the stock sedan bumper for its simplicity

i fell into a black hole while driving through a texas thunder storm and it cracked the bumper so i trimed an inch 1/2 off the bottom.

i dunno...i sorta like where youre going. WAY better than that evo bumper. i would just say see if you could (well you would have to start off with a new bumper) not make the hole as big and smooth out the edges a little more. it just looks so choppy and home-made. you need to give it that factory quality look. then i would say get some sort of nice quality grill(not crappy home depot mesh thats on so many hondas but more like whats used on the fog light hole covers on the msp and on the lower grills of most mazdas) that would cover up the sides of the hole leaving the fmic exposed. i think your idea goes well with that particular fmic making it look nice and long.

i want to do something like that but have square light (think 350z ish) in the coners and close up the hole to where its like only showing the pipe routing through and a blacked mesh will finish it up but right now i have to get the mpi tunned before i start working on it more.

thanks though its hard to get the the look smooth but with some looking up i will try to get it done but without being able to weld or fuse the material together its not going to be easy. as for the mesh if i could i'd love to use the factory mesh but if i can't find a good insert i'll let the fmic go raw. also th hole is that long on the the stock bumper just made it taller couldn't be helped. well thanks for the inputs i think it helps to get other opinnions to improve on an idea(first)

I donno, I would have to see the finished product. Looks like a starved child, like you chopped way to much of it off. Like I said, once you get it done, I can make a decision. One other thing, paint the wing! Once I painted mine, I couldn't believe that I drove around with it that long.

well we'll see when i get back to tryin to make it work but as for the wing it will stay black becausei want a two color theam with my car silver & black and i like it beside the skyline wing don't go with the car smoothly but if i had a evo9 looking wing that would be painted because its smoother and looks nicer. thats one trade i'd make.
