Thats an interesting design. We were discussing it here at work and figured that there must be a vent behind the wheel that air can enter and what we can see in the pics is actually the exit. Just a thought.

I dunno about this particular car but on my dad's 996 its got the radiators behind the rear wheels where the fins are.

Yeah, there is one on each side. I assume too they are the vents for outgoing air that you see.

The car pictured is a 993, which was air-cooled. The 996 that baconbitz mentioned was a water-cooled car.

not saying anything bad about the car, its sick.... but his air filter is right behind his rear tire. that cant be good. that thing has to get dirty every other week
