Hollow Bang when closing door

So, a google search completely failed me as to what I can to fix this. My driver's side door now makes a hollow bang sound when closing the door for some reason. The only thing that was done to that side of the car recently was the side moldings being removed, but I'm not sure if that is exactly what had caused it. My car was in the shop to get some damaged fix on the passenger side doors and the shop forgot to put the side moldings on. Since I had planned to remove them, I just had the shop remove the side moldings on the driver's side. Ever since I got the car back, that door now makes a very hollow bang when shut. Is there something I could do to easily resolve this issue?

Thats what happens when you remove the side mouldings. You could put some sound deadening material in there to fix it I'm pretty sure.

what i have in my door is a product called 'peel and seal' and it can be bought at lowes for about $16 for a roll of 6''x25'.
it is basicly the same thing as dynomat just a little bit thinner
i used 2 rolls and did all doors and the trunk floor.
it worked magic on sound deadening and makes the doors sound like solid wood!

and around this point is where someone is gonna talk smack on peel and seal and say that it smells and it doesnt stick.
and im here to say that as long as you clean the surface first and you heat up the material before applying it, it will stick and pretty much never come off (unless you really really tried).
AND it only smells a tiny bit on the first 2 or 3 hot days after leaving it out in the sun... but that goes away by opening the windows for a few seconds.
i've had mine on for about a couple of months now and have no smell and have pulled the door panels to see if it has moved (which it hasnt)

i highly recommend it!

Where exactly in the door (and trunk) did you "peel and seel"? I've been inside my doors before and I didn't want to mess any of my window stuff up. Teach me your ways!

well in the doors i took off the little white foam blocks (two plastic bolt/clip things) to get more product on the door.
like so (example pic)

thats as much as you need really, anymore than that is kinds of over kill (unless you want to do a huge sound system)
and as for the trunk i layered about 60% coverage under the spare tire and around it. remember, you do NOT need full coverage. i love it, ride is MUCH quieter but now i do hear every other little squeak and rattle in the dash (you can even here the fact that my valves are a little out of adjustment)

Also make sure the doors didn't unglue from the inner support. My both front left and right have unglued and also makes a hollow sound as well. Going to have to get a strong glue to fix it as when I close my door I can see the panel flex. I will also try the peal n seal as well as I like things to sound solid.
