HKS issues with rubbing

Ya i know, i meant i didnt know where that spot was i need to cut. Ill have to slowly lower it and see where it hits...

Easy put it back on and let eat eat through the vacuum line.. drive it. You will see a small dent or slice in the plastic where its hitting..

Thats how I saw mine :)

Haha..Ya mine cut the rubber just by settin the hood down on it...but i need to drive it and let it rub i guess..im still trying to figure out if i should even put it on! That s*** when it went flying was crazy. It was like 20 yards! That would probably screw my hood allllll up!

LOl yea dude mine blew completely off when I did not have the C-clip in all the way and Im guessing the valve would not release either because the vacuum line was cut so the pressure was too much. But yea I drove mine with the BOV completely blown off for like 10 miles the car would run no check engine light but it would die if I let it idle :)...

I reinstalled it again drove it slow and came back And I could see where the nipple was directly hitting the plastic because it cut into it a little bit.

So u think it is worth gettin it back on there? The stock Valve sounded like it was a way better sound....But i dont know if i had it on all the way, well obviously i didnt! lol...

Depends on what you like.. If you want your car to be quiet then put the stock one back on. I honestly at first was kinda upset at how loud my intake and BOV sound was. Then well i got used to it.

If not dont worry about it unless your stock BOV craps out on you

So the HKS IS louder? It sounded like it wasnt. I'm kinda a smart ass so I like the obnoxious sound!

With my CAI my stock is noticeable. You run recirc?

I have ran it both ways.. If your stock is noticeable then the HKS will be way more noticeable with the CAI. If you lived near me I would let you drive my car and you could see for yourself in both modes VTA and RECIRC

Im still worried about it coming off again.. i looked all nigh tlast night for some kind of video to show install or something so i could see how it is meant to move or not move... Mine WILL NOT move...

and you sure your putting the C-clip in the right way? Also you might have to use a smaller O-RING Gasket one thats thinner. The Same size around but thinner.

Take it too a performance shop that deals with this kinda stuff and have them Install it on the FLANGE.

Haha i dont know where there would be a performance shop around here. Im in idaho. Maybe there is something in boise. But i know its on the flange, im just starting to think its that companies flange... Should it spin? I know someone said it would spin a liittle but mine doesnt spin at all. Originally it would spin VERY easy.

I just know I had the exact same problem as you and it was the C-clip in backwards... And yea mine would not spin at all you had to like grip it and turn it.

Try getting an o-ring that looks like you the on you got buts thinner and retry installing it on the flange. Also where did you buy the flange again?

If its CPE or ATP you should have no problem I have had both

the HKS BOV should not be spinning at all, the c clip is a b**** to get right especially if you dont have a strong retaining ring tool, but it fits.. if its done properly the bov should not move even if you put all ur strength behind it and try to move it. try putting some lubricant on the ring that may help it slip into place properly

Well i ended up saying screw it and put it on before i got these replys. I did use ALL my strength and got it to twist just enough so it would clear the hood. I am running VTA and i love it! My car runs same as usuall and i have heard it back fire twice in the week i have had it on. I am currently monitoring the gas to see how much worse the gas mileage is because there was talk about running rich (obviously) so we will see how it goes.

I think its suppose to be able to move some so you can adjust the angle.. Just saying I have used them on several different cars. too loose is bad. But too tight? I guess it wont hurt :)
