I just bought the HKS BOV and tried to install it... It wont fit under the hood! The nipple sticks up and when i close the hood it cuts the rubber hose on the nipple!!!!!! what did you all do??? I wanna throw it back on but it wont fit! HELP PLEASE!!

What is "clock it"?

depending on the version, the back of the valve can be taken off and rotated and rescrewed in, moving the vacuum nipple to a diff location so it doesnt hit the hood

Mine has a bigger gap on the back side or the Flange side...The bolts are spaced farther apart....What do i do in that case?

rotate the valve in the housing so its level

i had to cut my recirc pipe and install a 45* fitting to prevent it from kinking. dont hit the hood and works fine.

I have been reading on google and everyone has the same problem...This is crazy..so that bottow hose comes off anyways in VTA right? Maybe i can just run like that tell i get a 45 degree fitting or longer hose...

Soooooo.....I installed the BOV in VTA...had the hks mounted to the street u n i t flange... Spun the BOV while the flange was installed and it came out of the flange, so i tried again today and had the clip in and installed the Bov to the car..had it set to VTA and started the car then hit the gas..Look what i see go flying 20 yards out into my yard!!!! It came out again...So is the HKS sapost to spin on the flange? Or is it sapost to be TIGHT so it wont spin? Is it just there Flange or what? I called them and there was no answer...Im pretty pissed anyways because it doesnt fit like it should so i dont know why it is sold for the MS6 if it doesnt fit the MS6! Please help guys!

No, it should not be spinning. You need to tighten the set screws on each side of the BPV to secure it to the adapter flange. Then, you can bolt it on.

Look for the tiny holes on each side of the BPV, and tighten them to the flange.(--this is assuming that the set screws are there. If they are missing, you'll need to get a couple more.)

The MS6 needs to be in recirc mode, not VTA...driveability issues will arise, because the ECU is looking for the air that it thought was there, and now isn't...(because it was sent back to the atmosphere, instead of the intake.)

Hope this helps you.

There is no place for set screws...maybe your thinkin of a differnt BOV...Once i put the C-clip in and connect BOV to the flange, should it spin on the flange? Or should it be very tight so it will not spin on the flange?

I looked at an HKS that was on a friends' MS3...it has set screws. I would understand a c-clip retainer, it should snap into place and hold it...but, it still shouldn't spin, it should remain in a stationary position.

Sorry I couldn't help more.

You put the rubber washer on the adapter flange and BOV. It will spin if the rubber O-ring isnt in there.

Ya there was one down in there...thats the one u mean...its about an inch wide? So its not meant to spin on the flange? For example to tilt it to the side to fit under the hood???

Where? Mine doesnt even have a place for them?

IF it spins in the flange easily its not SEATED.. The C-clip also is only suppose to go in a certain way.. The flat edge down the curved edge towards the top of the BOV.

I learned that the hard way I could not get my C-clip to sit right till I flipped it over. If its installed correctly the BOV should be able to turn but just barely it should not be loose at all. Mine did the same thing it blew literally off the flange till i got it on correct.

You can also easily recirc it just cut a small section of the Air inlet piece for the intercooler on the hood out. About a square inch maybe thats all.

And it wont rub and you can run it in recirc and not worry about it eating through the vacuum line

If you have them, the holes would be right above the flange, on each side--in the body of the BPV. Very small holes. These would secure the flange to the BPV.

The c-clip does the same job, so it must have been a design change. The HKS valve that I was looking at has the set screws, but it's a slightly older model.

Ya mine doesnt have the set screws.. I searched all over it. Thanks for that idea though.

As far as spinning, mine doesnt spin at all...I put some pretty good pressure on it and it wouldnt spin. I didnt twist SUPER hard because i didnt want to have to put that damn clip in again!! lol.. As far as cutting a section out, thats a good idea except im not sure where that spot is..ill have to mess with it.

I believe he was referring to the plastic IC cover. If you need to make a little bit of "breathing room" for the vac line, you can cut a tiny bit off.

Ya i know, i meant i didnt know where that spot was i need to cut. Ill have to slowly lower it and see where it hits...
