HKS Intake

its weird with mine it feels like it only starts to produce power around 5-6k rpm were my old intake i get power from around 4k. how do u like ur hks intake? and what type of filter do u use for daily driving?

I felt the difference right away when I got the HKS, which is more power instantly. It is still doing good till now. But I do realized when the filter is dirty the car becomes slower... I use the Yellow Color type, and I change it like every 6 months to 10 months. Did you check the Vacuum hose and other clams? Maybe it got loose up.

Lately sometimes I feel the car is alittle bit slow, but I was able to think that some Gas station servers bad gas. Because when I switch to other gas station it becomes better again. But I'm planning to clean my MAF sensor too soon.

Hey, guys. This "feel" power concept could stand some improvement. I know when we drive our cars we can tell when something "ain't right" so to speak. But the butt dyno can be very deceptive. For instance, smooth delivery of more power can seem less dramatic that a sudden burst of power at higher rpm. But it is that sustained power that typically produces quicker lap times or better quarter mile results than a peaky power delivery.

Modest suggestion: get an inexpensive stopwatch and get used to using it to measure different WOT pulls in third and fourth gear through certain speeds, like 40-80 or 60-100 mph. You'd be surprised to find out just how inaccurate the butt dyno is and how valuable that little cheap stopwatch can become. When you see an increase in timed intervals from what you know from past experience to expect, then it's time to start looking for the cause. Just a thought . . .

do you really need the one step colder plugs? is it the hypertech tune or the turbo back?

anyone had an hks intake dyno? i would like to compare it to the cobb. i was trying to retro fit the cobb air box to fit for the hks intake.
